Oracle, SAP, Google Are World’s Fastest-Growing Major Cloud Vendors

Now that all of the Cloud Wars Top 10 companies have released their Q4 financial results, Oracle, SAP, and Google Cloud retain their spots atop the list of the world’s fastest-growing major cloud providers.

Last week, Workday, Salesforce, and Snowflake released their numbers for the fiscal year ending Jan. 31, and here are the Q4 highlights:

  • Workday: subscription revenue up 22% to $1.5 billion
  • Salesforce: revenue up 14% to $8.38 billion
  • Snowflake: product revenue up 54% to $555 million

Before rolling out the most recent Cloud Wars Top 10 Growth Chart, one other timely bit of information: Oracle will release its fiscal Q3 numbers tomorrow, March 9, so the details shown below for Oracle are subject to change.

But to give you some context, when Oracle released its fiscal Q2 results three months ago, CEO Safra Catz offered Q3 guidance including Cerner of 43% to 47% (or 46% to 50% in constant currency). So I have no doubt that Oracle, following the release of its Q3 results on the afternoon of March 9, will retain its lofty spot as the world’s fastest-growing major cloud provider.

And, please bear in mind that I’m not plugging Snowflake into its logical spot on these Growth Charts until its quarterly revenue reaches $1 billion.

Final Thought

As always, I find it illuminating and ironic that three of the top four companies on this list are “legacy” tech providers — yet here they are at the top of the Cloud Wars Top 10 Growth Chart!
