The aggressive pace of new features and functions coming to Microsoft 365 Copilot continues, which can make it difficult for customers and partners to keep up with the changes as they push to embrace AI agents and copilots.
A recent blog post from Microsoft — covering the June Copilot enhancements — does an effective job of outlining the latest features and why they matter. I’m selecting five categories of enhancements that I consider most impactful to highlight in this report:
- Context IQ For Intelligent Copilot Assistance
- Microsoft 365 Copilot Mobile App Enhancements
- Copilot Memory
- Copilot Enhancements in Outlook
- Copilot for MacOS
Context IQ For Intelligent Copilot Assistance
ContextIQ is Microsoft’s intelligent assistance layer that suggests relevant content and thereby helps users ground AI prompts in a targeted work context. Regardless of the task — drafting a message, summarizing a meeting, or searching for a document — ContextIQ surfaces people, files, or other information needed to move a project forward.
In Copilot Chat, users access ContextIQ by typing a forward slash (/) or selecting the “Add content” button in the prompt box. The result: users receive a menu to search and attach context-rich data sources to a prompt, making Copilot’s responses more accurate and actionable.
ContextIQ will also scope prompts to third-party data sources connected via Microsoft Graph Connectors, enabling users to ground Copilot prompts in enterprise platforms including Salesforce, ServiceNow, Gong, and others. This feature — which Microsoft refers to as “scope to third-party data with Graph Connectors” — becomes available this month.
Also rolling out this month: users without a Microsoft 365 Copilot license can find files to reason over in Copilot Chat using ContextIQ. Instead of uploading a file, users can type “/” to search for files that they have access to. Users can also upload files directly or search OneDrive from ContextIQ. This feature is referred to as “find files using ContextIQ in Copilot Chat.”
The Files tab in the ContextIQ menu now includes file type filters and people refiners. Users can narrow their search by document type or collaborator, helping them find the right file faster and with greater precision. This feature — Enhanced file search with filters and refiners — became available in June.
Other new functionality that rolled out in June: Users can now reference SharePoint and OneDrive folders directly within prompts when they are in Copilot Chat work mode. This makes it easier to reference shared content and ensures Copilot has the right context to generate meaningful responses.
Also delivered in June: ContextIQ will suggest relevant prompts and work context, such as recent files, meetings, or collaborators when users begin typing in the Copilot Chat prompt box, helping users discover useful context.

AI Agent & Copilot Summit is an AI-first event to define opportunities, impact, and outcomes with Microsoft Copilot and agents. Building on its 2025 success, the 2026 event takes place March 17-19 in San Diego. Get more details.
Microsoft 365 Copilot Mobile App Enhancements
Users are now able to tap into Microsoft’s Researcher and Analyst deep reasoning agents in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app. These agents rolled out in June on iOS and are rolling out in July on Android.
Researcher delivers insights with high quality and accuracy in complex, multi-step research, which includes tapping third-party data via connectors. Analyst functions like a data scientist, enable companies to translate raw data into business insights.
A new feature called Copilot Notebooks in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app — being delivered this month — lets users gather project-related content such as documents, emails, chats, links, and Copilot Pages, and apply AI reasoning.
The new Create experience in the Microsoft 365 Copilot mobile app supports story generation, infographics, and branded templates. This feature is rolling out in July.
Copilot Memory
The new Copilot Memory feature remembers key facts about users such as their preferences, working style, and recurring topics they work on. It captures details from users’ conversations and applies them to future responses. With memory, Copilot becomes tailored to users’ needs, reducing repetitive input and accelerating task completion.
Microsoft recommends that users tailor Copilot to their work with prompts including:
- “Ask me 5 questions to learn more about my writing style”
- “Ask me 10 questions about myself to get to know me better”
Memory is enabled by default and tenant-level controls are available for IT admins. Memory in Copilot is available this month.
Copilot Enhancements in Outlook
A series of Copilot enhancements, aimed at making users more productive within email, improve meeting scheduling and mobile capabilities.
Users will be able to schedule meetings over Copilot chat within Outlook and in the Microsoft 365 Copilot app. Copilot uses natural language processing to identify suitable meeting times based on participants’ availability, creates agendas, sends meeting invitations, and more. Users can iteratively refine and update meeting details in a conversational experience without losing context. This feature becomes available this month.
Also coming this month, new functionality in Outlook for iOS and Android means Copilot can help mobile users prepare for meetings when they are on the go. Copilot prepares users for meetings by gathering and summarizing relevant context, tasks, documents and other resources related to the meeting. This summary and related materials show up directly within the meeting invitation and are generated in real time, ensuring attendees always have easy access to the latest relevant insights.
Now meeting organizers can select Schedule with Copilot, and Copilot will analyze an email and create a meeting invitation with a title and agenda and attach the email thread. The people on the email thread are included as attendees, and meeting organizers can quickly review the invitation, add or change info, and then send it out. This feature is rolling out to iOS in July.
Copilot for MacOS
Microsoft in June rolled out Microsoft 365 Copilot app for MacOS. Users will tap this feature by launching the Microsoft 365 Copilot app from the Dock on their Mac devices, gaining access to memory in chat, content creation tools, and agents.
Microsoft’s June enhancements also included updates and changes to Copilot Control System, which I outlined in a previous analysis.
Closing Thoughts
Like other leaders driving the AI agent and copilot revolution, Microsoft continues to deliver new features and functions at an accelerated pace; in so doing, the company is giving customers and partners ever greater opportunities to embed AI functionality more deeply into business operations, business systems, and personal productivity initiatives. That’s a win for customers, partners, and those looking to run businesses more efficiently.
