In this Cloud Wars Minute, Bob shares a recent story posted to Microsoft’s website which discusses a “huge ERP-type deal” the company won in 2019, beating out Oracle and SAP.
Highlights
00:49 — Microsoft’s deal involves something that is as mission-critical as it can get. Microsoft’s client is New York City’s Department of Environmental Protection, which is responsible for delivering one billion gallons of fresh, safe drinking water every day to 10 million residents.
01:18 — Challenges faced in this project were the new sustainability goals that had to be implemented while replacing 27-year-old mainframes. This task is more than taking old technology out and replacing it with new technology.
