These numbers reflect how businesses are “less enthusiastic about huge commitments to the cloud in the current environment, but are still going forward with it,” suggests Bob.
02:05 — The most recent growth rates from businesses of this size are “quite striking.” For the 2022 calendar year, Microsoft had a cloud revenue of $102 billion. AWS had a cloud revenue of $81 billion. Google Cloud had a cloud revenue of $26 billion.
02:28 — Bob says he is curious about which company is adapting most rapidly to what future customers want from the cloud. He has the suspicion that Google Cloud might be leading the way on this front, which is partly determined by the company’s recent growth rate.
03:00 — Google Cloud has been able to “hold up a pretty solid growth rate.” Bob was “particularly taken” by the numbers from AWS. However, “all we can do is charge forward in this,” and all of these companies are finding new ways to serve customers. Currently, Bob thinks Google Cloud is standing out with its ability to do that.
