Highlights
19 – Throughout calendar-2021, we’ve seen incredible growth and innovation from the Cloud Wars Top 10, from #1 Microsoft to #10 IBM and every vendor in between. The cloud has transformed from being just a piece of the tech stack for most businesses to the “reimagination machine” for those same companies. This past year should give us a great deal of optimism for the year ahead.
04 – Bob explains that he’s going to offer his projections for each company in the Cloud Wars Top 10’s total cloud revenue for 2021. These numbers haven’t been formally announced yet by any vendor. First up is Microsoft, which Bob predicts will bring in $80 billion total in cloud revenue for 2021. Following Microsoft is Amazon, whose Amazon Web Services Bob expects to earn $60 billion in cloud revenue for the year.
10 – Next up is #3 Google Cloud. Bob predicts $19 billion in cloud revenue for Google Cloud, which has been seeing growth rates from mid-40% to mid-50%, the highest among the Top 10. #4 is Salesforce, which continues to roll on like a force of nature, and will bring in about $26 billion in calendar-2021 cloud revenue. SAP is next at #5 and Oracle at #6. Bob expects both of these companies to finish the year with about $11 billion in cloud revenue.
15 – #7 ServiceNow will likely announce about $5.6 billion in cloud revenue for 2021, Bob says. Next is Workday at #8, which should top the $5 billion mark for the year. At #9, Snowflake is likely to come in under a billion dollars in cloud revenue, but its stock is just out of sight. Finally, #10 IBM should bring in about $26 billion for 2021, but its slow growth rate is reason for concern.
40 – Bob reiterates that there are so many amazing things going on in the cloud market. He also previews a follow-up video to this one, where he’ll look into how the Top 10 will perform in the year ahead.
