Welcome to the Cloud Wars Minute — your daily news and commentary show, hosted by Cloud Wars Founder Bob Evans. Each episode provides insights and perspectives around the “reimagination machine” that is the Cloud.
In this Cloud Wars Moment, Bob shares news from SAP’s CEO, Christian Klein, who says the company is expecting to have its largest Q4 ever.
Highlights
00:40 — On SAP’s earnings call last week, CEO Christian Klein said that in terms of order entry and new cloud business, the company is expecting the fourth quarter will be the greatest quarter it has ever had. Traditionally, the fourth quarter is when Cloud Wars Top 10 companies try to cram in as much business as possible.
01:01 — Despite the macro-challenges that SAP is facing, the company continues to see strong demand across all of the organization’s lines of business and cloud products — particularly, its SaaS portfolio, which is extremely relevant given the challenges its customers are facing today.
01:25 — For Q4, which ends on December 31, SAP has some stiff competition to keep up with. In Q2, SAP saw a cloud revenue growth rate of 34% and in Q3, it was up 38%.
02:07 — SAP’s quarterly earnings up to this point demonstrate how the organization is combining the best of its incumbency, power, cloud innovation, and customer service.
