It’s fascinating to see how these Cloud Wars Top 10 vendors are getting together, working in partnerships, and creating new sorts of innovation. The trio of IBM with watsonx, AWS, and Salesforce are now driving some interesting areas in data innovation.
01:00 — All these agents that are coming are going to be moving data around. The need for real-time data becomes greater than ever. The Salesforce Data Cloud is picking up great steam. IBM and AWS have been helping Salesforce establish governance on this. We also see that Salesforce Zero Copy is making more data available to more people in a simpler format, which I think is going to reduce data egress fees.

02:00 — Businesses won’t have to pull gobs of data from data stores and move them into a place where they can do analytics or act on it. Instead, Zero Copy allows that to be viewed and acted upon where it is. So, again, another way to save money. IBM noted how Iceberg technology from IBM can lower storage and compute costs by up to about 50%.
03:08 — Not that long ago, IBM would have said, “No, we compete with AWS. We compete with Salesforce.” Now it’s got, you know, fantastic partnerships with them. So the underlying nature of these Cloud Wars Top 10 companies, and what they can do, is changing The second thing about it is the rise of agents that’s going to require new capabilities and new mindsets.
03:50 —None of this would have been possible had IBM not embarked on being very eager to work with partners all over the world, including AWS and Salesforce. And I really give the CEO of IBM, Arvind Krishna, a huge amount of credit for leading this.
