Did you just say Power BI for GP Payroll?  Well certainly!  The Payroll table structure in Dynamics GP is unlike other modules, but that doesn’t prevent us from using Power BI to support and enhance your Payroll reporting capacity.  Perhaps you have a system that integrates employee and/or timesheet data into Dynamics GP, and you want to review for miscoding, thoroughness, and investigate or highlight any outlier situations or use cases.  Current methods of review rely on SmartLists, Edit Lists, and SSRS reports, but in this session you will learn a new, more visual way of reviewing payroll transactions in Dynamics GP with Power BI.  We will show you some of the possibilities and even show you the steps to create your own Power BI views for Dynamics GP and beyond as well as an introduction to other Power Platform tools.

This session is geared for an audience with an intermediate skill set.

This session will be available for CPE credits pending completion of session survey post event.

A well thought out Power BI data model can make creating a well functioning report a breeze. Relationships form the core of any model, but what if the relationships you have won’t allow the calculations you want? Do you want dimension tables to filter each other? Should a fact table filter a dimension? By getting creative with your DAX measures, it is possible to do this and more, while still keeping the model functional.

This session will introduce and explain several DAX functions for manipulating relationships including CROSSFILTER, USERELATIONSHIP, and TREATAS.

Do you use the Inventory module in GP?  Then you should use HITB.  The HITB was designed to be your inventory subledger to the GL.  There are gaps in capturing all the data if you are currently using the Historical Stock Status report as subledger, but HITB captures it all.  The gaps will be exposed, the process defined, and you will be empowered to overcome the possible objections from the accounting team.

Everyone knows that Excel is the “go-to” program when creating financial reports. However, when you export a report from legacy tools such as Management Reporter into Excel, you have no ability drilldown on the numbers. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could?

With ActivReporter, you CAN!

Join this session to learn how you can completely replace Management Reporter with ActivReporter. ActivReporter can produce financials with multiple periods, multiple budgets, multiple companies, foreign currencies, and much more. And for any number in any ActivReporter Excel financial, you CAN drilldown to the underlying detail and then drillback to the posting in Dynamics GP.

Companies running multiple instances will benefit from automation of Intercompany Orders.  AX2012 R3 allows for Direct Delivery functionality in the same instance.  However, our company runs 8 instances of AX 2012 R3 and needed a solution to automate intercompany transactions.  By developing a process that mimics direct delivery, from instance to instance, the manual processes involved with ordering and distribution created seamless electronic trading between buyer and supplier.  Orders can be entered in one instance and fulfilled from another instance, directly to the original customer.  Also allowing real-time communication, supply chain information and inventory order processing.
