Cirque is exploring customer centric digital engagement strategies and the metaverse as ways to engage customers, Lalumiere said.

Cirque is exploring digital technologies and the metaverse to help enhance customer engagement beyond live shows. “Can we use the metaverse to bring people to see a virtual show? It’s not the same as the live experience because it’s difficult to recreate that. We are looking into using digital to bring that connection even further,” he said.

The company is looking to create more of a year-round connection with attendees of its traveling shows — most visitors see a show once or twice a year — and sees digital as one means to do that. The company’s interactive program includes a mobile-optimized website, information about a show and its genesis, virtual backstage visits, and more.
