In this Cloud Wars Minute, Bob Evans shares highlights from Oracle CEO Safra Catz’s keynote presentation given at Oracle CloudWorld in London.

Highlights

00:42 — This week, Oracle held its Oracle CloudWorld conference in London. Bob found the conversation between CEO Safra Catz and the CFO of the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Anna Manz, to be fascinating.

01:18 — The London Stock Exchange Group is 322 years old and is undergoing a major transformation, explains Bob. His full-length Cloud Wars News article today will cover this digital transformation in greater depth.

01:25 — “It was so interesting to hear these two leaders talk about the power of revenue acceleration,” notes Bob. In her discussion, Manz explains that LSEG wants to move more people out of doing low-value work, to higher-value work. Manz said that LSEG has been “embedding behaviors across the business to create faster revenue outcomes.”

02:10 — Catz made the point that “finance used to be in the backseat, looking backward and writing down what happened.” Manz noted that transformations are more than just a system change, “it is how we run the business.”

03:37 — “Across the board, it speaks to how every C-level executive has to take full responsibility for driving new revenue,” suggests Bob.
