In this Cloud Wars Minute, Bob is in New York City attending Google Cloud Next and shares some of the company’s big customer wins.
Highlights
00:35 – Google Cloud is working with T-Mobile to “digitally transform the customer experience via deeper user of analytics, data, AI, and ML,” says Bob.
00:58 – Wayfair has completed a full migration of all of its data applications and services to the cloud — and completely away from the data center. Bob says Google Cloud is a “main player in that.”
01:09 – RiteAid is embarking on a multiyear deal with Google Cloud to improve the ability for customers to form seamless connections with pharmacists. The idea is that this would ultimately enhance the overall customer experience.
01:21 – Snap Inc. is working on a multiyear contract with Google Cloud that involves improving infrastructure, big data, AI, and machine learning.
01:33 – Bob says that these customer wins demonstrate the range of capabilities Google Cloud has developed for specific infrastructures, but he adds that the recent deals also go beyond infrastructure. These capabilities also include deeper engagement with AI and analytics by connecting with different parts of Google that go beyond Google Cloud.
02:04 – Using everything from Google Search to geospatial interconnections, Google Cloud has “a lot going on around sustainability,” says Bob, adding that this is important as customers are making sustainability a top priority as well.
02:25 – Bob says there will continue to be “a slew of announcements” around what Google Cloud is doing with data cloud infrastructure, particularly surrounding cybersecurity.
