Highlights
40 — Bob reports that Thomas Kurian said since the last Google Cloud Next, Google Cloud’s added more than 1,000 new products, enhancements, and upgrades. It’s booming at the event. The conversations have brought to life this notion that it’s not AI displacing cloud, it’s AI enriching cloud and expanding ecosystem opportunities.
57 — Amin Vahdat, vice president for ML and AI systems, said we will see in the next five years things that it’s impossible to imagine right now. Kurian noted there are people on the customer side who are not technologists. We have to move away from the tech industry language of describing things.
05 — Bob adds that cybersecurity has been high on everybody’s list, along with data analytics. You can’t have AI unless you have good data.
45 — John notes that there are a lot of partnership announcements going on. It seems like everybody partners with NVIDIA. On the ecosystem side, a ton of AI startups are being built on Google Cloud. There’s a lot of innovation.
52 — From the startup side of things, that statistic that Thomas Kurian cited a couple of times was 62% of AI startups are using Google Cloud; 90% of what he called AI unicorns are using Google Cloud.

55 —John notes it’s interesting to see a big global systems integrator like Accenture rising to the challenge and bringing Google Cloud in to redefine and reimagine industries like retail, and they’re getting acknowledgment as a partner of the year.
17 — Bob notes customers are working to figure out how to put together the right partners, technologies, and internal capabilities to move on AI because as they move forward with AI, it changes who they are, what they do, and what the value is that they can create. The event has a great sense of potential and possibility.
35 — Kurian noted that growth in the Next event requires the company to embrace a vision of constant change, accelerating change, to be sure it meets future needs for customers.
