In this Cloud Wars Expo Moment, excerpted from the digital transformation education sessions, Acceleration Economy analysts Tony Uphoff and Wayne Sadin describe how resource reallocation can allot the proper funds required to implement business transformation processes.
Highlights
00:16 — Wayne explains how he worked with a client who had a payroll process that took three weeks to go from the job site to being posted on the general ledger. The team could not see the labor cost for three weeks, which was one-third of the total cost of the entire project. Therefore, the client could not manage the project.
00:39 — There were disagreements between the payroll department and the business department on the “payroll needing to be perfect,” which ultimately led to the delay in projected costs. Wayne’s company offered the client a process that would fix that and ultimately change the business. The client’s payroll department was “so tied up” around the notion of perfection, which is something that must be traded off in these processes.
01:38 — As it relates to strategic initiatives that prompt digital transformation, there are a lot of questions surrounding where the money comes from. It is the responsibility of the CXO team to figure out the answer to that question. CXO teams do not have to ask for more money but oftentimes need to consider how they can reallocate resources.
