Highlights
00:10 — Today’s report details a series of developments from video communications giant Zoom over the past several days.
02:00 — First, the company expanded an alliance with Genesys, to further integrate Zoom audio/video phones with Genesys cloud contact centers. Users of the integrated systems should spend less time searching for and retrieving data. That means better faster service at the point of the customer.
02:22 — Zoom named Greg Tomb of Google Cloud as president, responsible for revenue, go-to market, and more. He was previously a vice president at Google Cloud, which also recently lost Robert Enslin to UiPath as co-CEO
02:50 — The third item is a fun one with a little competitive mud slinging: Microsoft Chief marketing officer Chris Caposella said that Microsoft Teams is taking share from Zoom (as well as Slack and Google) because enterprises see the opportunity to “compress” their vendors down. It’s tough to validate that one, but there’s no doubt a turnkey system like MS 365 has some appeal.
