June’s live Cloud Wars Expo event featured dozens of industry leaders allowing the Acceleration Economy team access to the inner workings of the greatest growth market the world has ever known.
If you missed the Expo or just want to catch up on sessions you were not able to attend, then you’re in luck. We recorded more than 40 hours of education sessions from the event, which are available for free to Acceleration Economy subscribers. We’re also previewing the content in this series of Moments, which feature highlights from each session.
In this Cloud Wars Expo moment, taken from the Industry Cloud Battleground sessions, Joe Wilson, Chief Technology Officer for Americas, Workday, speaks about the importance of privacy and security in the hospitality industry, something for which he says “there is no end state.”
Highlights
00:37 — Workday has been around for 17 years, so it isn’t new at this point. This means the organization has had to think about the mandate on privacy and security as the world continues to evolve. The approaches Workday has taken in the last 17 years are architecturally unique.
00:48 — Workday is the only organization within the competitive space that encrypts every attribute of customer data, while still offering a level of audibility.
01:14 — A user cannot transact in Workday “without knowing who did what, when, where, time and date stamp down to the moment, including before and after data values for artifacts,” since the company does not delete any of this information. Wilson says Workday is the only organization doing that.
01:27 — Workday is the only organization that provides a dynamic level of attestation that spans five principles:
- Security
- Confidentiality
- Availability
- Privacy
- Processing Integrity
