Why Understanding ‘Native Digitals’ Is Key to Digital Transformation and Innovation

In their Cloud Wars Expo fireside chat, Christopher Lochhead and Christian Anschuetz discussed cultural disconnects, the future of the S&P 500, and why prioritizing time with customers is so important today.

In addition to talking about native digitals, Anschuetz and Lochhead advised downplaying internal meetings and not referencing 'internal customers.'

Anschuetz advised those in attendance to review their calendars and categorize their meetings as a way to ensure they remain customer focused: “What percent are internal BS with respect to your firms and how many are specifically and explicitly about figuring out or addressing a customer or market need?” Anschuetz and Lochhead both railed against the use of the term “internal customer,” noting there’s only one customer, and that’s the one that buys your product.

Finally, a few words on the state of hiring: Salary wasn’t employees’ top need or expectation in the hiring process. In fact, it was fifth, but it became number one in recent years “because that’s all we left them with. We took out the soul of the company – the meaning and the purpose,” said Anschuetz.
