Welcome to the Cloud Wars Minute — your daily cloud news and commentary show. Each episode provides insights and perspectives around the “reimagination machine” that is the cloud.

Gain insight into the way Bob Evans builds and updates the Cloud Wars Top 10 ranking, as well as how C-suite executives use the list to inform strategic cloud purchase decisions. That’s available exclusively through the Acceleration Economy Cloud Wars Top 10 Course.

Kieron Allen guest-hosts today’s episode, and he analyzes Microsoft efforts to further embed artificial intellligence (AI) functionality and access into its product lineup.

Highlights

00:21 — Microsoft is adding to new Windows 11 PCs a new artificial intelligence (AI) key that enables users with a single click to access Microsoft Copilot. This represents the biggest change to Microsoft keyboards in 30 years. Copilot has already been integrated into Bing and Microsoft 365 products.

Ask Cloud Wars AI Agent about this analysis

00:45 — Integrating AI into the keyboard signals the confidence Microsoft has in both the capabilities and the expected usage of Copilot, as well as its commitment as an investor to OpenAI, which fuels the Copilot application.

01:05 — In announcing the development, Microsoft said it simplifies the computing experience while simultaneously making 2024 the year of the “AI PC.” Microsoft’s ability to embed AI in software and hardware is an important differentiator.
