June’s live Cloud Wars Expo event featured dozens of industry leaders allowing the Acceleration Economy team access to the inner workings of the greatest growth market the world has ever known.
If you missed the Expo or just want to catch up on sessions you were not able to attend, then you’re in luck. We recorded more than 40 hours of education sessions from the event, which are available for free to Acceleration Economy subscribers. We’re also previewing the content in this series of Moments, which feature highlights from each session.
In this Cloud Wars Expo moment, Jon Rooney, Group VP of Industry Marketing, and Mike Sicilia, Executive VP of Vertical Industries, define how Oracle is assisting patients and providers within the healthcare industry.
Highlights
00:16 — Rooney asks Sicilia what Oracle does that is different and special to help patients, providers, or anyone else in the healthcare ecosystem.
00:24 — Sicilia says that the biggest difference between Oracle and other healthcare cloud providers is that the organization is “willing to take on the entire problem.” Further, he explains that the company takes “everything from end-to-end automation, patient engagement systems, back-end claims adjudication, and billing systems, as well.”
00:45 — Oracle can “automate the entire flow,” says Sicilia; nobody else in the healthcare cloud space is willing to take that on.
01:16 — Sicilia brings up how healthcare data sovereignty is a “huge issue.” Countries do not like their data to leave their borders, so he considers Oracle’s strategy to be a bit different. The company’s strategy is to build a large number of small data centers, in which the collected data is taken to a country’s individual data center to ensure it does not leave its borders. He says the fact that Oracle “is not just going to bring the systems, we’re actually going to bring the data set to the countries, as well,” is a differentiating factor between the organization and other healthcare cloud providers.
