Highlights
00:38 — The anticipated changes to Google Cloud’s pricing model have come into effect. Among these changes are BigQuery editions, which include three pricing tiers:
- Standard
- Enterprise
- Enterprise Plus
The new pricing structures allow organizations to “mix and match” based on price-performance ratios and the requirements of individual workloads.
01:04 — A key addition is the introduction of autoscaling, which matches capacity in real-time to the demand of individual workloads. This means that organizations only pay for data storage after compression has taken place.
01:28 — BigQuery already boasts market-leading features, particularly in regard to its machine learning (ML) capabilities. The launch of BigQuery editions means that “data teams can hand over the complexity of deciding when to use and budget for advanced functionality in Google Cloud.”
