Welcome to the Cloud Wars Minute — your daily news and commentary show, hosted by Cloud Wars Founder Bob Evans. Each episode provides insights and perspectives around the “reimagination machine” that is the Cloud.

In this Cloud Wars Minute, Bob projects the soon-to-be-released FY23 Q1 figures of Oracle to set a new bar for the Top 10 Cloud Wars competitors.

Highlights

00:01 — Oracle’s FY23 Q1 numbers are due in the coming weeks and will likely establish the company as the world’s fastest-growing vendor in cloud revenue.

01:00 — In June, CEO Safra Catz projected the company’s first fiscal quarter, including the Cerner acquisition to fall between 44-47% growth.

01:34 — Catz named Cerner and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as the key drivers behind this massive growth.

02:09 — Oracle aims to take the Cloud Wars top spot from Google Cloud (36%), outpacing the field of top competitors by a significant margin (SAP 34%, AWS 33%).
