For many years, digital transformation primarily focused on cloud migration, with the cloud at the center of transformative efforts. As cloud adoption has matured, digital transformation is entering a new AI-driven chapter.
Today, transitioning from legacy architecture isn’t just about improving; it’s about upgrading from outdated methods. It’s about helping organizations move beyond simply replacing legacy systems toward AI-native operating models that enable greater automation and autonomous workflows.
However, complex transitions like this can come with challenges. In a new AI-powered offering, ServiceNow and Accenture are focusing on modernizing cybersecurity and risk operations while addressing two major migration challenges: the high cost of moving off legacy risk platforms and the complexity and disruption associated with large-scale migrations.

A New Chapter
This new offering consists of two core components: managed security services built on the ServiceNow AI Platform, and an AI-powered migration solution from Accenture that automates the transition from legacy risk systems to ServiceNow. Beyond this, the initiative emphasizes accelerating agentic AI adoption, with AI agents embedded throughout the offering.
The managed security services include key features such as unified integrated risk management and third-party risk management services. Here, AI agents monitor vendors, automate lifecycle management, and provide security teams with a unified view of enterprise risk on the ServiceNow AI Platform. The platform brings together IT and operational technology (OT) risk management to improve visibility, strengthen threat detection, and accelerate deployment.
AI agents are also deployed for proactive risk management and compliance, monitoring regulatory changes and automating responses. Accenture’s AI-powered migration solution aims to reduce migration costs, minimize business disruption, accelerate time to value, and simplify transitions from legacy cybersecurity and governance, risk, and compliance platforms.
“The future of cybersecurity will be driven by autonomous operations powered by AI,” said Lou Fiorello, group vice president and general manager of Security and Risk products at ServiceNow. “ServiceNow and Accenture are moving customers toward that future by combining enterprise AI, integrated workflows, and deep cyber expertise. Together, we are helping organizations simplify security operations, improve resilience, and respond to threats with greater speed and confidence.”
Final Thoughts
This announcement highlights how the partnership between ServiceNow and Accenture, which has been in place for over a decade, is evolving in the AI era to enable large-scale AI-powered transformation. This latest solution leverages ServiceNow’s AI Platform and Accenture’s migration expertise, and what stands out for me is its focus on the security and risk space.
Moving forward, this offering could serve as a prototype that could be expanded to address other business areas. As I mentioned at the start of this article, AI is enabling organizations to transition beyond merely replacing legacy systems. The focus is now not just on updating to an AI version of the technology, but on creating a new way of doing things where agents are embedded into the core structure of what the service provides.
ServiceNow and Accenture are recognizing this trend and, by concentrating on a single business area, testing a model that could be replicated rolled out across the enterprise.
