Cloud Wars is on location this week at the UiPath FORWARD customer conference in Las Vegas. Tom Smith got a preview of a wide range of product announcements taking place on Forward’s opening day. He spoke with three UiPath execs who are featured in this video discussion:

- Chris Janiszewski, Director, Analyst Relations
Highlights
Product Rollouts (00:46)
The company is introducing agentic automation in the form of several new products: enterprise agents, orchestration capabilities, and agent builder technology. UiPath will allow customers to “bring their own” agents developed internally or by other vendors to work with UiPath’s agentic software.
Enterprise Agents and Orchestration (01:22)
Enterprise agents can be given a set of rules or goals. Robots, by contrast, are given a set of rules to run by. With UiPath combining enterprise agents and robot technology, an agent will orchestrate a group of robots to achieve a goal.
Orchestration is the ability to manage all of these things together; the solution you’re building is across agents, robots, and humans. “When agents go to take actions, they will also be able to reach out to humans to validate the action they’re taking,” Anderson says. “In some cases, they’ll just give recommendations to humans. In other cases, they’ll be empowered to take action.”
Building Agents and BYO (04:21)
UiPath’s view is that humans will work with agents and agents will work with robots, Patrick explains. Robots will harvest information from various systems. “The orchestration of that complexity, particularly at scale, will be our differentiation.” Agentic automation requires RPA and UiPath is the top RPA vendor. An example of a “bring your own” agent might be one from Salesforce (AgentForce) for CRM. Customers can also bring their own AI model. UiPath will offer templates to get customers started with building agents and will offer pre-built agents in its marketplace, Janiszewski says.
Customer Impact (07:38)
Particularly for existing customers, this is a big expansion of what they’re already doing.
They can look at their automations and see where they had to stop before. “Customers can go back to these workflows and now automate those tasks with agents,” Patrick says.
