In episode 115 of the AI/Hyperautomation Minute, Toni Witt reviews the partnership between Oracle and Cohere as well as Oracle’s further moves into generative AI.

This episode is sponsored by “Selling to the New Executive Buying Committee,” an Acceleration Economy Course designed to help vendors, partners, and buyers understand the shifting sands of how mid-market and enterprise CXOs are making purchase decisions to modernize technology.

Highlights

00:33 — While Toni recently discussed Oracle’s approach to building out AI infrastructure rather than the application layer, the company has made an announcement in terms of its generative AI strategy. Oracle is partnering with Cohere, a base-level large language model (LLM) development company focused on the application layer.

01:01 — It announced the release of its generative AI services, which are Cohere’s models built on the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). It leverages Oracle’s unique super-cluster technology.

02:08 — The press release also mentioned that Oracle is bringing generative AI further into industry-specific applications, such as its Oracle Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Toni reports his excitement as generative AI continues to move into non-tech industry pillars through partnerships.

02:30 — The partnership between Oracle and Cohere is “really going to be what drives massive value and actually improves the workplace, and even potentially save many lives,” Toni says.
