In Ep. 182 of My Metaverse Minute, Kieron discusses the recent collaboration between FIFA and Roblox, which are creating an experience that includes advanced interactions for fans.
00:36 – FIFA and Roblox are collaborating to create a FIFA World in Roblox, which features social spaces, rewards, and exclusive video content. Kieron says the announcement is coming ahead of the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.
01:05 – Kieron says this is an obvious step for FIFA as it will provide publicity around the upcoming World Cup and create an experience for Roblox’s younger users who are unable to attend the in-person event.
01:29 – Within the wider context of the announcement is a “really good example” of how the Metaverse is going to open up communal experiences that are experienced globally, says Kieron. He says human beings are intertwined and connected by events as large as the World Cup, but not everyone gets to experience them live. He says this is a “prime example” of how the Metaverse will enable more people to have that experience.
02:41 – The collaboration between FIFA and Roblox represents the greater idea of a shared, collective experience that will be taken even deeper as a result of the Metaverse. Kieron adds that these immersive experiences are important on an economic and advertising level, too.
