In this Cloud Wars Expo Moment, excerpted from the”Removing Security Friction” education session, Chris Hughes explains why the user experience (UX) should inform the systems designed by cybersecurity professionals.

Highlights

00:16 — Cybersecurity teams should take into consideration human-centered design (HCD) in the UX, since it enables teams to understand the experience from the perspective of the user. Chris suggests that this brings a human aspect to security.

00:43 — Humans are the ones using cybersecurity systems. So, it is important that companies are exploring ways they could enhance these measures to generate a more impactful user experience. This enables cybersecurity teams to minimize customer friction.

01:10 — When using UX and HCD principles, the system creates a feedback loop that can inform cybersecurity teams about users’ direct experiences and inform them of ways to improve. This leads to more secure products for customers that they will enjoy using.
