Welcome to this combined Cloud Wars/Cloud Wars Horizon Minute — featuring news and commentary hosted by Acceleration Economy analyst Tom Smith. Each episode provides insights into one or more innovation accelerators on the Cloud Wars Horizon. This is the second of several interviews that will preview the upcoming Celosphere conference being hosted by Celonis. In this episode, Tom speaks with Alex Rinke, co-founder and co-CEO of Celonis.
Highlights
01:20 — “Virtual events were great, but Celonis really looks forward to having customers back in person at Celosphere,” says Rinke. “We are coming together at a very important moment in time. What we do as a community is more important than ever, because when you think about it, with everything that’s going on in the world, it can be quite scary: fears of recession, supply chain issues.
02:30 — “Everybody that’s coming is looking at how can they provide value to get through this in the best possible way, and to set themselves up in the right way for the future,” says Rinke. “Because these moments tend to be inflection points, where you discover a way to run things differently in the future.”
03:15 — Explaining the meaning of process mining “reinvention,” Rinke says it all started for him 12 years ago with his co-founders: “We were enamored by this idea, and we were committed to making this the project of our professional lives, to bringing this to many, many companies and people around the world, and we’ve created a lot of value in the processes and our values. The technology has transformational potential.”
05:02 — Rinke says: “Leveraging process mining and execution management becomes a way for many, many people to advance their careers, because of the impact that you can have on the problem; we have companies that have millions, even billions, of dollars they are getting in economic returns while reducing friction and optimizing the supply chain. The “builder” designation at Celosphere is about — how do I bring a technical perspective to my company? And obviously, in order to keep tabs on product growth and all the things that are coming in, relates to the champion designation, which is all around the organization. How do I really make sure that my organization is galvanized around this opportunity that we are still pioneering? So what our customers and partners can expect is great enablement along these two tracks.”
07:51 — Rinke continues: “Attendees will learn from a very impressive lineup of the best of the best: Bosch, BMW, Dell, IKEA, and more — the best organizations in the world that are already successful, realizing tons and tons of value. It’s also about getting the business cards and the friendships and the network so that you have someone you can call in any situation; the peer-to-peer networking is very, very important. Our customers will walk away with a sense of vision and confidence on how much impact they can create on their bottom line, on their top line, on their business performance on sustainability, on the things that will matter over these next month, quarters, and years.”
