In this Acceleration Economy Lightning Strike, Aaron Back talks with Bob Evans and Wayne Sadin in a conversation about the most recent earnings release from Oracle, as well as the company’s plans to revolutionize the healthcare and B2B commerce sectors.

Highlights

11 โ€” Bob Evans and Wayne Sadin join Aaron to discuss Oracle’s June 13 earnings release. The company will also be participating in Cloud Wars Expo sessions, including the Keynote and Industry Cloud Battleground Live.

58 โ€” Bob runs through Oracle’s fiscal 2022 report. The software giant’s Cloud business grew 22%, with projections of more than 30% growth (excluding Cerner) in FY 2023.

54 โ€” With Cerner added to the mix, growth could be up close to 45% or even the “high 40s.” Businesses in every industry are reaching out to modern cloud technology to power operations moving forward.

01 โ€” Wayne dives into key differences between the companies with enormous growth rates that tend to be “money-losing companies” versus profitable cloud providers with healthy margins. Oracle is a particularly unique company, due to the multiple ways in which it provides services.

48 โ€” The healthcare industry will be the company’s largest market following the Cerner acquisition.

11 โ€” Aaron describes how Oracle aims to use an entirely new healthcare data infrastructure to bring the biggest industry on Earth into the present.

11 โ€” In addition to intentions to fundamentally change healthcare, Oracle aims to automate B2B commerce while contending with competitors such as Microsoft and Salesforce. Tackling these three monumental tasks at once indicates the type of leadership that’s guiding the company.

04 โ€” Wayne explains how Oracle arrived at where it is today through its expertise in supporting large, complex companies. Oracle is in a unique position to tackle healthcare’s foundational infrastructure.

39 โ€” Oracle’s Fusion is designed to bridge the gaps between industries.

03 โ€” If Oracle hits the “low end” in its upcoming quarter, it will tie Google Cloud for the fastest-growing major cloud company on the planet.

01 โ€” Oracle has the potential to shake up companies, industries, and the Cloud Wars Top 10. Wayne describes changing cloud infrastructures as both a heart and brain transplant at the same time. Switching cloud providers can be done, but isn’t easy. The lifetime value of becoming healthcare’s go-to cloud provider makes Oracle’s revenue “sticky.”

30 โ€” Oracle’s vision to change healthcare is a win for everyone. The company has the financial muscle to get the attention of partners and investors.
