“Is this the most important new computer technology ever? Probably. One thing’s for certain: We’re about to find out.” That’s a quote from Larry Ellison’s keynote at last year’s CloudWorld event in Las Vegas, talking about the potential of GenAI, a technology Oracle has embraced wholeheartedly.
Since going decidedly bullish on the blockbuster technology, Oracle has lived up to its promise of embedding GenAI across its technology stack and introducing a wide range of AI-driven products. For Oracle, the goal hasn’t been launching multi-faceted, ChatGPT-esque applications. Instead, the company has focussed on specificity, drilling down into the capabilities of GenAI as they emerge and improve, and introducing these capabilities to tackle refined use cases.

Just this month, the company announced yet more GenAI capabilities for finance, supply chain, HR, customer experience, and more, all aimed at helping organizations be more productive within the Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications Suite. In this analysis, we’ll run through the new embedded capabilities, explain where you’ll find them, and the impact they may have on the productivity of your organization.
What’s New?
The latest GenAI advancements add to the growing list of Oracle’s embedded GenAI applications, built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and numbering upwards of 50. The latest additions include GenAI capabilities rooted in existing workflows across finance, supply chain, HR, sales, marketing, and service.
Beyond this, Oracle has announced that it has expanded the extensibility framework for Oracle Guided Journeys, allowing Oracle Cloud HCM and Oracle Cloud SCM customers and partners to integrate additional GenAI capabilities that match the trajectory of their business goals.

Closing Thoughts
What sets Oracle apart from many of its competitors is the pace at which it is introducing new GenAI use cases. It’s a different approach, and one that, it can be argued, is more customer-focused than a a Copilot or AI Assistant. Why? Because Oracle is consistently enriching existing workflows and tasks with GenAI, and not replacing the applications users love.
