Welcome to the Cloud Wars Minute — your daily cloud news and commentary show. Each episode provides insights and perspectives around the “reimagination machine” that is the cloud.
In today’s Cloud Wars Minute, I cover Workday’s recent AI governance accreditations and the significance of such recognition in the AI industry.
Highlights
0:03 — Workday has received two third-party accreditations for its AI Governance Program. The first is the ISO 42001 accreditation, which recognizes its commitment to building responsible and transparent AI. The company has also received independent attestation of its alignment with the National Institute of Standards and Technology AI Risk Management Framework (NIST AI RMF).
0:30 — Dr. Kelly Trindle, Chief Responsible AI Officer, Workday, said “Workday is committed to developing AI that amplifies human potential and inspires trust. Our robust, responsible AI Governance Program is key to delivering the innovative, trustworthy products our customers expect, and this dual recognition affirms our leadership in this critical area.”

AI Agent & Copilot Summit is an AI-first event to define opportunities, impact, and outcomes with Microsoft Copilot and agents. Building on its 2025 success, the 2026 event takes place March 17-19 in San Diego. Get more details.
0:56 — It’s important to recognize that Workday wasn’t required to undergo these rigorous assessments. Instead, the company chose to undertake them voluntarily. This reflects significant internal confidence in how the company’s AI Governance Program is addressing responsible AI and it should also instill confidence in Workday’s customers too.
01:18 — It’s fair to say that the genie is most definitely out of the bottle. While AI innovation is an endless process, the tools to achieve results are already available. The next phase of AI development must now focus on transparency, security, and governance.
01:35 — We’ve already seen companies like Microsoft rank large language models by safety score, and this news from Workday is yet another example of the necessity for companies to instil consumer confidence through rigorous safety checks.
