Highlights
45 — Last week, ServiceNow held its annual customer and partner event, Knowledge 2023. A big announcement made at the event was the release of new products, specifically in the ERP world.
05 — ServiceNow introduced these products as being finance and supply chain workflows, but those sit right at the heart of an ERP. Bob asks if this means that there will be “head-on clashes” between ServiceNow, SAP, and Oracle, but notes that he doesn’t think this will be the case.
40 — There are still a number of traditional ERP customers, despite the booming cloud market. Bob believes that ServiceNow is acting as a “bridge” for customers between traditional ERP systems and more modern ones, creating end-to-end solutions for customers. Creating a portfolio of end-to-end solutions has been part of ServiceNow CEO Bill McDermott’s plan since he joined the company.
39 — Bob points out how McDermott has always said that for ServiceNow to win, others don’t have to lose. For customers, ServiceNow is offering ways to interconnect traditional ERP systems of record with modern systems, getting the right data to the right place at the right time.
