In episode 32 of the Acceleration Economy Minute, Kieron Allen discusses co-creation, “co-opetition,” and interoperability.

Highlights

00:13 — In his recent analysis, Acceleration Economy analyst Tony Uphoff discusses the return of “co-opetition” and co-creation. The idea of “co-opetition” reflects the notion of companies pooling their resources and working together to provide a better service or product for customers.

00:42 — In today’s episode, Kieron focuses on the ideas of co-creation and “co-opetition” in the context of interoperability. As more business users begin to use technologies from all over the business ecosystem, they need to be able to use these technologies together. This is where interoperability comes into play.

01:27 — Interoperability enables services, platforms, and technologies from other companies to work together and is becoming increasingly popular within software. Additionally, it is a way for businesses to form relationships with competitors and makes it easier for customers to jump from one service to another.

02:17 — In the upcoming year, the notion of interoperability will become increasingly popular, predicts Kieron. There are many ways to incorporate this notion into existing systems without having to create new technologies.
