HYCU Extends Data Protection Technology Via Integration With Key Dell Platforms

Software-as-a-service (SaaS) data protection provider HYCU Inc. said it’s expanded a relationship with Dell Technologies to more closely integrate HYCU technology with Dell PowerProtect Data Domain and Data Domain Boost Software.

The new integration enables HYCU to improve data transfer speeds between the backup service and storage systems from Dell. Whether it’s a virtual or physical PowerProtect Data Domain offering, customers will realize faster backups and reduced network traffic, greater security, and lower resource usage when it comes to cataloging and indexing, HYCU founder Simon Taylor wrote in a blog post.

The two firms’ integration work ensures customers benefit from HYCU’s application awareness, agentless, driverless architecture with built-in multi-tenancy, and its management capabilities. These features facilitate management of multiple data sources and easy migrations across different clouds, as well as on- or off-premises hypervisors.

Today, the average enterprise utilizes more than 200+ SaaS applications, adding complexity to their data management needs. Last year, HYCU introduced the HYCU R-Cloud data protection platform that supports over 70 different data types, including Atlassian, Okta, Salesforce, and Monday.com. It’s now enabling enterprises to maintain control over their SaaS data, whether that data is stored on-premises or with an MSP using Dell ECS Enterprise Object Storage.

With HYCU and Dell collaborating in this way, customers can protect their development, staging, production, and restoration environments. The new capabilities will be generally available before end of June 2024.

These developments are important because data management initiatives require maximum efficiency and ease of integration. By deepening integration with Dell PowerProtect Data Domain and Data Domain Boost software, HYCU extends its reach to a broader customer base.

David Noy, vice president of data protection product management at Dell Technologies, underscored the significance of the integration, highlighting its capacity to efficiently protect heterogeneous workloads across diverse environments.

Looking Ahead

The partnership between Dell and HYCU is a testament to the power of ecosystem collaboration in the tech industry and, more specifically, around data protection. As both companies continue to innovate , customers can expect a steady stream of updates and enhancements aimed at maximizing data protection efficiency. The future looks promising for organizations seeking to elevate their data management strategies, flexibility, and cross-platform integrations.
