Is your company culture ready for GenAI? Most are not. Take the Acceleration Economy Cultural Impact of GenAI executive course to learn why and define the strategic steps you can take to leverage the technology and have an “AI Mindset.”
In today’s Cloud Wars Minute, I discuss expectations for Google Cloud Next, which I’ll be attending, in Las Vegas.
Highlights
00:18 — I’ll be in Las Vegas at Google Cloud Next. I want to talk a little bit about what to expect. The big thing that I got from a briefing offered by Thomas Kurian to some analysts was that, across all of Google Cloud’s five distinct clouds, there’s going to be Gemini innovations. Google Cloud’s going to be turbocharging capabilities for customers across the board.
00:58 — For Infrastructure Cloud, unique configurations for specific workloads; for Developer Cloud, simplifying and accelerating to build new AI applications quickly and precisely; for Data Cloud, simplifying and modernizing for analytics; Security will be intelligence-driven through AI; and then the Collaboration Cloud, Gemini for Workspace, will be end to end, with great security.
Ask Cloud Wars AI Agent about this analysis
02:14 — One point that Thomas Kurian made was the need for not only the new types of models that everybody wants for AI, but also the need to be able to accommodate and handle, manage, drive, and get the most out of all those models, i.e., the need to have a very rigorous, vigorous platform. Kurian was very bullish on Google Cloud’s ability to be a leader in that regard.
03:05 — More and more, Google Cloud’s realizing that they might have a lot of, not overlapping, but different sorts of products aimed at the same thing. It’s trying to simplify those, like BigQuery, so that customers don’t have to pull together a lot of different pieces.
03:22 — We’ve gone from 2023 being the year where Google Cloud and others built a lot of these AI capabilities to 2024 being the year in which they are able to realize the full customer value out of all those innovations. So, it’s going to be a fine few days in Las Vegas at Google Cloud Next. I’ll be following up later this week.
