With the introdcution of PowerApps Portals, which is the successor of Dynamics 365 Portals, it is important to understand the defintion of the new portal solution, its capabilities and benefits for offering external customer-facing experience. PowerApps Portal compliments an existing Dynamics 365 instance. Customers and partners can build low-code, responsive websites, which allow external users to interact with data in the Common Data Service (CDS), the underlying data platform for both Dynamics 365 and PowerApps.

The content of this session is geared toward an audience with beginner-level knowledge of the subject area.

Join the AXUG-D365 Finance/Supply Chain Mgt Community as we gather virtually here at Community Summit North America! This session is focused on the best practices for data migration and upgrade from Dynamics AX 2012 to Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain. With data migration and upgrade projects, the best practice methodology followed is to execute these upgrades in a prescribed manner to limit risk and costs. We’ll review leveraging the available tools as templates, DMF Data Management Framework and RSAT regression testing. Their usage depends on the client’s needs for the migration and upgrade.
Project leads, Technical leads, Architects, Developers, Database specialist will learn from a best practice and proven approach to executing a data migration and upgrade in three phases; Analyze, Execute and Validate. This includes analyzing the data and code upgrade, setting up Azure LCS, performing the upgrade to plan and validation of the upgrade before cut over to production.

This session will be available for CPE credits pending completion of session survey post event.

Production planning is part of inventory planning and it cannot be learned separately, but there are still some specifics available only in the production process. In this session, you will see how to configure inventory planning and how to add all specific for production planning. I’ll explain how to configure production forecast and its relationship with MRP and MPS processes. Also, you will see interdependence of all documents and entries with planning system. On the end we will pass through embedded Machine Learning and how we can use it in planning process.

This session will be available for CPE credits pending completion of session survey post event.

It is easy to use Power BI as a self-service tool. However, using it in a multi-developer environment comes with challenges. You can easily end up with silos of Power BI solutions, duplicates of Power Query, and DAX codes.

Come to this session to learn how to avoid duplicate work using the right architecture for developing your Power BI solution.

Are you ready to take your reporting and data analysis to the next level?

This course is an accelerated hands-on 2-day training designed to teach how attendees how to build reporting and data analysis projects with Power BI Desktop and how to share Power BI reports and dashboards with a wide audience of consumers.

During the course, students will gain the real-world skills required to design, deploy, upgrade and monitor reporting and dashboard solutions using the rapidly-evolving Power BI platform. All the essential Power BI concepts and techniques discussed in lectures are reinforced with hands-on lab exercises in which students will move through the actual steps required to build reporting and dashboard solutions and then to make those solutions accessible using app workspaces and the Power BI app model.

This course includes in-depth coverage of the query tools and data modeling tools in Power BI Desktop. Students will learn how to design complex queries and to write advanced DAX expressions to calculate rankings, rolling averages and year-to-year comparisons. Students will also learn how to design interactive reports using slicers, bookmarks and drillthrough pages.

The course discusses essential differences between reports and dashboards and also examines the strengths and weaknesses between the various types of datasets including imported datasets, DirectQuery datasets and LiveConnect datasets.

Whether it be an implementation or an upgrade, embarking on a new project presents many challenges. With the current advancements in collaborative technology, a project manager should never go into battle unarmed. I will discuss:

•several tools that increase project success (Power Platform integration, Teams w/ Apps, etc.)
•real world scenario application of these tools/technologies
•tips and tricks on getting the right project reporting out to the C-suite
Just some of the things you’ll know after you attend the session:

•Creating “tasks” in MS Teams and connecting to Project
•connecting Project to a Power BI dashboard for visual representation of your projects/portfolio
•knowledge of various apps and tools that enhance the project management capabilities
•understanding the technology “ecosystem” for your project management
I will also walk through some scenarios during the session and near the end we can open it up for Q&A on the tools so if you’re interested in walking through some of these examples alongside me, please have Teams, Power BI, Power Automate, Planner, Lists and Project installed (if not all, at least some).

As a low/no code development tool, Power Automate places a lot of power in the hands of users who previously had to rely on a developer.  But as a certain young Spider-Man once taught us, with great power comes great responsibility.

Instead of muddling your way to learning how to control all that power on your own, let us show you the 5 things you need in your integration to make it kick ass.
