Highlights
01:50 — Meta released an early concept for a new headset and haptic gloves this week, and though only in its preliminary stages, it’s already received criticism for its unrealistic appearance as it may seem too futuristic.
02:17 — The Metaverse is flooded with big ideas, but unrealistic ideas risk over-promising and under-delivering to the point where those ideas are no longer viable.
03:15 — Focusing on something overly-conceptual can be a step backward if users can’t see how technology might be used or adopted. It’s more advantageous to show concepts that are either working or in progress. There needs to be some element of legitimacy, especially in terms of technology, which comes with practicality.
