How Applying AI, Automation to Business Processes Benefits Customers

In this Digital CIO Summit moment, excerpted from the digital event which took place from April 4-6, John Granger, Senior Vice President, IBM Consulting, offers use cases of how automation can enhance the outcomes of business processes.

Highlights

00:05 — One way that business processes can be automated is around predictive maintenance. IBM has a client in Australia, “a big train company,” that has used artificial intelligence (AI) to manage the 30 million messages they receive within a given hour. As a result, IBM has seen a 51% increase in reliability.

00:41 — IBM is able to “summarize alerts” which helps organizations receive “much better ticket response.” The same can be applied in cybersecurity, too.

01:02 — A large bank has reduced “30,000 of their internal audit process activity across 5,000 controls just by analyzing all of those documents at scale,” explains Granger, before noting the “real opportunities” around these use cases.
