App usage for day-to-day has increased dramatically over the past few years. It’s estimated that there are about 88 apps being used per person to get work done. But, how many of them are helping with work efficiency?
To break through some of the “app noise”, it’s important to ensure the apps you use can fill gaps that you struggle with.
In this “Back @ IT” episode, I’m joined by Kieron Allen, Business Apps analyst for the Acceleration Economy Analyst Network, and recent author of “Top 10 Apps Driving Digital Transformation“.

08:54: Working from anywhere will have its set of tech issues. And, having a tool like TeamViewer can help streamline the troubleshooting process and get you back to work quicker.
12:25: Staying inspired throughout the workday can be tough. And, staying focused on what’s important to you can be difficult. With this in mind, Kieron touched on a great app he uses called Pocket. This app allows you to “save articles, videos, and stories from any publication, page, or app. And, you can curate your own space filled with everything you can’t wait to learn“.
14:40: Apps like Zoom and Microsoft Teams seem to have taken the workplace by storm. But, there are other alternatives if you want to keep things super simple. One such app that Kieron likes is called Jitsi Meet which is free to use and no account is needed.
