Celonis is a well-known leader in process mining: with its Process Intelligence Platform, the company has enabled global companies to deliver powerful results, fast.
Now, a new initiative is bringing Celonis’ partner network to the forefront. The company has announced the launch of the Celonis Platform Apps Program, enabling customers to leverage domain-specific apps that combine the experience of the Celonis partner network with the company’s core process mining technology.
Inaugural applications
The first four applications in the program were co-created by Celonis and ecosystem partners ProcessLab, Marcadus, Ashling Partners, and KMLZ. The apps are:
Celonis Cross Border Payments: Co-created with Process Lab, this application makes it easier for banks to execute cross-border payments. It enables full workflow visibility, reduces the cost of transactions, lowers regulatory risk, and enhances the customer experience.
One bank using the app saw $2.4 million in annual cost savings, increased payment processing capacity by 18%, and reduced cycle time by over 30%.
Celonis Plant Maintenance Navigator: Co-created with Marcadus, this app is built for the oil, gas, and chemical sectors, providing a holistic view of plant maintenance processes.
Celonis Maintenance Control Center: In manufacturing, downtime can increase costs and lower productivity. The Celonis Maintenance Control Center app, co-created with Ashling Partners, is designed to support consistent monitoring of machine operations to predict and schedule maintenance.
Using the app, one manufacturer identified $5 million in savings at a single plant, increased performance by 10%, and boosted machine availability by 8%.
Celonis Tax-Ray: This app, co-created with KMLZ, delivers automated controls for tax compliance management systems. It enables companies in every sector to identify and monitor tax transactions in ERP systems, surfacing any potential hazards or mistakes.
Partner Power
We spoke with Juergen Kuebler, Vice President, Industry Value Engineering at Celonis, about the new program and how Celonis embraces co-creation activities with its partners ecosystem.
“There will always be more time, money, and resources, and certainly knowledge, outside a company than inside a company,” he says. “When you want to build the best there is to build, you have to collaborate with everybody around you.
“What we really want to do is build this high-value vertical solution landscape together with partners, because alone we cannot be so conceited or bold to believe that we can build every business process, every use case ourselves.”
Celonis is providing the raw ingredients in the form of its process mining technology to support co-creation activities. And, the rise of GenAI is fueling co-creation.
With Celonis, explains Kuebler, customer get a map of their processes for visibility into how they’re functioning. “When you think about AI, and what generative AI does, and the large language models, you need that in order to interpret what’s going on in all these systems,” he says.
The Celonis platform’s ease of use is punctuated in the development story behind the new process applications. “This was one of our surprises,” Kuebler says. “We were like, Well, let’s get prepared, let’s line up as much help as we possibly can.” However, the partners involved in the development of the new applications needed very little support. “One partner developed the first version of the solution without any help from us,” he adds.
