Google Cloud Leverages Partners, Marketplace to Drive Broad AI Agent Adoption

The Cloud Wars Top 10 companies are driving the AI boom. In recent months, AI copilots have been joined by autonomous agents as these tech giants strive to truly reduce the manual tasks that hamper individual and organizational productivity.

This month, Google Cloud put its agentic AI offering on the table, potentially setting the stage for thousands of companies to launch their own AI agents.

Two-Pronged Approach

“We’ve seen a sharp rise in demand from enterprises that want to use AI agents to automate complex tasks, personalize customer experiences, and increase operational efficiency,” said Kevin Ichhpurani, President, Global Partner Organization, Google Cloud in a recent blog post.

To that end, the company has announced two new offerings: the Google Cloud AI Agent Ecosystem Program and AI Agent Space. The new ecosystem program is designed to enable Google Cloud partners to develop AI agents using Google Cloud resources while the AI Agent Space will serve as a new category on the Google Cloud Marketplace where customers can access partner-built AI agents.

Google Cloud AI Agent Ecosystem Program

Google Cloud’s new AI partner program enables partners to build and deploy AI agents using the company’s AI services. The program supports participants in three pivotal areas:

  1. Speed of development: Partners will benefit from direct access to Google Cloud’s product and engineering teams, which will help them optimize their development processes. This includes early access to upcoming AI technologies from Google Cloud and listing on the AI Agent Space in the Google Cloud Marketplace.
  2. Go-to-market: The program will include new go-to-market programs and co-selling opportunities designed for AI agent products.
  3. Expanded visibility: Google Cloud plans to showcase the new AI agent partner ecosystem through dedicated marketing resources, content pieces, and events.

To join the AI Agent Ecosystem Program, participants must be a Google Cloud Partner Advantage partner and demonstrate prior use of Google Cloud resources.

What to Expect

Google Cloud has already worked with a series of organizations — including Deloitte, Infosys, and Accenture — to build and deploy AI agents.

“Leaders who prioritize and invest in agentic architecture will be at the forefront of their industries, driving future growth with generative AI,” said Scott Alfieri, Global Lead, Google Business Group, Accenture. “For example, Accenture’s marketing team is using autonomous agents to streamline campaign creation and execution, reducing manual steps by 25-35%, saving 6% in costs, and speeding up time-to-market by 25-55%.”

Google Cloud’s ISV partners have also leveraged the company’s AI technologies to develop AI agents. One company, Elastic, developed an agent with Google Cloud to help Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) and SecOps interpret log messages and errors, optimize code, and write reports.

AI Agent & Copilot Summit is an AI-first event to define opportunities, impact, and outcomes with Microsoft Copilot and agents. Building on its 2025 success, the 2026 event takes place March 17-19 in San Diego. Get more details.

Ken Exner, Chief Product Officer, Elastic, explained how the company utilized Google Cloud’s AI toolkit to develop its agent: “Elastic AI Assistant uses Vertex AI and Gemini models to empower SREs and SecOps teams to build intelligent agents that interpret log messages, optimize code, automate reports, and even generate runbooks,” he said.

AI Agent Space is available today and includes AI agent offerings from several partners with hundreds more expected in the coming months.

Closing Thoughts

These developments highlight Google Cloud’s involvement in agentic AI from both development and consumption perspectives. Additionally, it positions Google Cloud as a leading AI partner.

This development directly links the opportunities arising from selling AI agents with being a Google Cloud Partner Advantage partner while also demonstrating the capabilities of Google Cloud. Overall, this further establishes Google Cloud, which was already performing exceptionally well in this sector, as a key player in AI partnerships.
