The generative AI onslaught is in full swing, and a wide range of tech companies are scrambling to introduce this game-changing technology into their product offerings.
As the generative AI trend plays out, natural language functionality is fast becoming a customer expectation. Dataiku has revealed its plans to incorporate generative AI incorporation, with a focus on refinement and restraint.
Dataiku has launched Dataiku 12, the latest release of its ground-breaking artificial intelligence (AI) design, deployment, and management platform. The focus of the new release is generative AI, and Dataiku has made significant strides in incorporating the technologies into its existing product offering.

The most critical element of the newly launched platform is the focus on responsible AI. While harnessing the power of generative AI, Dataiku enables users to capitalize on these features.
Dataiku 12 includes five core AI-focused upgrades. They are:
OpenAI GPT and ChatGPT API Integration: These integrations enable Dataiku’s customers to perform tasks using natural language prompts to expedite data classification, generate text, answer questions, and summarize text.
Uplift Modeling: Uplift modeling is a type of causal machine learning (ML) that enables you to calculate cause-and-effect relationships of proposed actions. Now, Dataiku has simplified this process so regular users can gain deeper insights while constructing ML models.
Universal Feature Importance: With this feature, Dataiku has centralized model explainability functions, enabling users to understand and compare the importance and impact of models regardless of whether or not they were developed in Dataiku’s visual ML framework.
Model Overrides and Model Risk Project Views: Users can now develop rules to implement model outcomes and enforce compliance on certain predictions when they fail to remain within the guardrails in place. This override feature enables human oversight as a measure that helps ensure the safe operation of ML technologies.
Users can also manage risk with a holistic view of all the AI projects across the organization and at various stages of development.
Transparent Automated Feature Generation: Automated feature generation enables users to build ML models quickly, efficiently, and transparently.
Responsible AI In Action
While Dataiku has effectively harnessed the power of generative AI with these recent upgrades, it’s done so with responsible, safe, and governed AI as the primary concern. The generative AI features introduced to Dataiku 12 are complemented by others that focus on risk management and oversight.
“As we advance further into the era of AI, delivering trust via transparency and governance is now essential for any business aiming to stay at the forefront of innovation. Dataiku 12 directly addresses this need,” said Florian Douetteau, co-founder and CEO at Dataiku in a press release. “We’re empowering companies to confidently explore the vast potential of AI while providing robust mechanisms for oversight and risk management.”
What’s most striking about this upgrade is how Dataiku has introduced generative AI-backed functionality without taking the big bang approach. They are focused on using the most well-known and popular generative AI models and APIs to complement their existing technology while concurrently introducing the relevant advancements to better secure existing infrastructure.
