In this Enterprise AI Minute, Ep. 71, Aaron gives a behind-the-scenes look into the Oracle CloudWorld keynote given by Oracle CEO Safra Catz, who spoke with Nvidia President and CEO Jensen Huang during a portion of the presentation. Aaron says that Huang focused on the ways in which artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining industries.
Highlights
00:28 – Aaron says that Huang focused on areas of AI that struck him as “actually actionable from Nvidia’s perspective and not just posturing on the capabilities alone.”
01:10 – Huang focused on ways that AI is helping sustainability and energy consumption and using data to surface insights and find new ways to continue the sustainability focus, says Aaron. Huang also emphasized the need for “businesses to harness this acceleration of AI and that the acceleration of AI workloads will continue over the next 10 years.”
01:36 – Huang acknowledged the need for large infrastructure behind the cloud need of AI, as they require “very large language models,” but focused on ways to do that sustainably with energy consumption in mind, says Aaron.
01:54 – Aaron says that Huang shared how its AI platform is impacting the healthcare industry. One of the solutions offered by Nvidia, called Nvidia Clara, brings together life sciences, biology, and technology in unique ways. This solution relies on AI understanding proteins and is expanding the use of quantum computing, says Aaron.
02:30 – Aaron says that this demonstrates AI’s power and shows how a traditional computer parts company can shift from a traditional business sense to a tech company with a backbone of AI. He says he is interested to see where Nvidia goes with this over the next few years.
03:42 – Nvidia is “shifting the game for how AI is being thought of and used and all the way down to AI being embedded on chips within your computers,” says Aaron. He says AI is helping Nvidia unlock the potential to shift its core business model to be a tech company.
04:14 – Aaron says Nvidia’s partnership with Oracle is helping them “scale and leverage the outcomes of AI across their large data sets that they have,” and thinks that Nvidia will be “all in” on this expansion into the tech area with an emphasis on AI workloads.
