Highlights
14 — There’s a new GenAI offering from Amazon called Amazon Q. Cloud providers, rather than being content to rely on other companies to provide AI tools, are finding that they can do it a lot better if they create their own and integrate it tightly into all the systems that they provide.
03 — Amazon Q provides a variety of different tools. One is Amazon Q Developer. It allows Amazon or AWS developers to code, conduct testing, upgrade applications, diagnose errors, and conduct security scanning. Business Q is an AI tool that allows enterprise to give access to the information and data that are available in that organization.
28 — Connect in Amazon Q involves how you use AI for customer service — think contact center services. AWS Supply Chain isn’t available yet, but it will be coming out. Q interacts with that by allowing, for instance, inventory managers and supply and demand planners to get intelligent answers about things that are going on in their supply chain.

29 — One important consideration with all of these AI tools is whether they are secure and private. This is something Amazon has put a lot of effort into. That’s something that, as a CIO, I’ve been concerned about.
21 — Another aspect of security and privacy is how it will use the information. This is something that I coach people on all the time. Amazon guarantees that it will not use the information that you put in while using its AI tools to improve the system.
20— Not too long ago, ChatGPT was one of the only games in town, and it was a very powerful tool, but that was just one tool. Now, what we’re starting to see is all these cloud providers, like Amazon, providing powerful, high-end GenAI.
