In episode 57 of the Cybersecurity Minute, Rob Wood shares why multi-cloud training is critical for security teams.

This episode is sponsored by Acceleration Economy’s Digital CIO Summit, taking place April 4-6. Register for the free event here. Tune in to the event to hear from CIO practitioners discuss their modernization and growth strategies.

Highlights

00:23 — Rob introduces today’s topic, training for multi-cloud environments. A move to multi-cloud puts a lot of demand on your security teams if there are no people who have experience with different cloud providers, who are well-versed in how and why to make decisions about these environments, or who know how to build and operate a multi-cloud environment at scale.

01:00 — If you’re considering or encouraging a multi-cloud architecture, you need to ensure you’re providing your employees with hands-on training on how to build, plan, operate, secure, and enforce compliance in a multi-cloud environment.

01:27 — One key part of multi-cloud security is how those services interconnect with one another. It’s oftentimes those points of connection where things start to fall apart. And that’s where vulnerabilities can be introduced.

01:42 — That’s because you can take advantage of a lot of cloud-native tools at the point when services are being deployed. However, once you start crossing boundaries and things start connecting, that’s when it’s important to remember that the specific provider capabilities don’t necessarily extend from one provider to another.
