Scott Durow is a Solutions Architect for Develop 1. He has 20 years of experience as a Microsoft Business Applications MVP specializing in Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform.

In this brief interview, Scott chats with Aaron Back, Senior Analyst with Acceleration Economy Media. They discuss what attendees can learn from his Community Summit sessions.

Scott will be sharing his experience and knowledge on the advantages of Microsoft Dynamics 365 with three sessions. His primary goal is to help people walk away with a balance of practical knowledge and a roadmap of where technology is headed.

Next Gen Commanding With Power Fx In Model-Driven Apps:

Recently, an announcement shared that Microsoft is releasing “Next Gen Commanding.” This brings low-code commanding and Power Fx to the model-driven command bar. This exciting new development unlocks many productivity scenarios that previously would have required pro-coder customizations. Join Scott to learn how you can perform common command bar customizations quickly as well as efficiently use the power of Power Fx. Meanwhile, you will also understand its limitations. Finally, he will cover the need for the Ribbon Workbench, for the time being.

Creating a Plugin With Unit Tests From Scratch:

One can imagine that creating a unit-tested Dataverse plugin can be difficult. Creating one in less than an hour is even more so! In this audience-driven session, the audience will challenge Daryl to create a Dataverse plugin, unit test it, and deploy it to Dataverse, all within an hour!

App Convergence Is Almost Here With Custom-Pages In Model-Driven Apps!:

For a very long time, we have had to pick canvas apps or model-driven apps. We have had to contemplate between pixel-perfect user interfaces or fast responsive metadata-driven model-driven apps.

Why should we need to pick? Furthermore, why can’t we have the best of both worlds? Well, with the new custom pages we are one step closer to a reality of having just a single app type that can combine canvas and model-driven goodness! Join Scott to learn about how to use this new custom page feature in your next app. For instance, he will share uses such as showing popup dialogs. Additionally, he will share the key best practices and ‘gotchas’ that you need to know.

Scott is looking forward to attending Summit because he wants to see the community again. Additionally, he’s looking forward to developing new friendships and connections.
