You can use SQL Jobs to schedule SQL Scripts and Database Maintenance Plans. Alerts can notify you when jobs or maintenance plans fail. Extended Events can help troubleshoot and improve performance. Profiler preceded Extended Events but hasn’t advanced since 2008.
