Ensure on-time delivery and accurate shipments by efficiently and effectively managing your company’s transportation. With Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & SCM, you can drive down operating costs by improving inbound and outbound transportation. With end-to-end visibility from order to payment (and delivery) and substantial lead time reduction, you can improve your manufacturing process. In this blog post, we will be discussing the key components of transportation management with Microsoft D365.

Inbound Transportation

Inbound transportation functionalities include a quality check and put away clusters. Quality check lets you perform rapid quality checks on the spot. Put away clusters are a way to pick up multiple license plates and take them for a putaway to different locations. Dynamics enables you to plan an inbound load’s transportation when you order items from a vendor.

Outbound Transportation

Outbound transportation functionalities include small package shipping, system-directed work sequencing, wave load building, and warehouse slotting. Small package shipping sets up carrier login credentials, printing labels, charging freight terms, and delivery types. System-directed work sequencing filters which work orders should be presented for execution. Wave load building assigns shipments to either an existing load or a new one. Warehouse slotting allows you to create replenishment work based on order demand. Supply Chain Management helps you plan an outbound load, from the transportation to the shipping.
