00:06 — There’s a new acquisition of “Decentraland” by the Dubai-based interior design and architecture firm, Roar. The company purchased the land for approximately $36,000 to set up a design studio.
00:27 — Why is this exciting? The studio aims to design and develop properties solely within the virtual space of the Metaverse. Instead of a group of developers wanting to expand what they can do within the Metaverse space, this is a real-life design company taking what they do in the real world and bringing that directly into the Metaverse as another branch of their business.
01:01 — Roar now has a physical and virtual space to design physically and virtually. Imagine a chef taking their restaurant into the Metaverse. They may not be creating food that you can taste—well, not yet—you may not be able to taste the dishes that they’re concocting, but they know the ingredients and what they want the food to look like. The best person to be making food in the Metaverse is going to be a chef.
01:33 — We could have videographers working within the Metaverse—making movies to watch on virtual cinemas. It’s a really interesting step forward. Instead of a big company coming in, buying up some land, and figuring out what they can do with it, this is about bespoke organizations that can do what they do in the real world very well and transferring those skills.
