Highlights
00:07 — This episode is brought to you by Cloud Wars Expo, the in-person event on June 28th to 30th at Moscone Center in San Francisco, CA.
00:33 — The very first Metaverse Fashion Week is going to be hosted on Decentraland and it’s a four-day event starting 24th March.
00:38 — The Metaverse fashion show will be much like regular fashion events, with catwalk shows, live music events, and branded after parties. Of course, there will be opportunities to buy some of the products modeled on the catwalk. Several fashion houses are set to be involved. For instance, Hugo Boss is a confirmed participating fashion house, as it has connected with the DeFi platform, Boson Protocol, to facilitate Metaverse trade during the event. This isn’t the only collaboration though.
01:12 — Fashion designers will have to collaborate with graphic designers and coders to transfer real-world designs into the Metaverse. How can these collaborations work in the future?
01:36 — Graphic design could become part of the regular fashion designer’s skill set. If you’re working within the virtual and the real world, then why not combine these skills?
01:51 — This opens doors to new professions—imagine fashion designers not only working collaboratively, but also working independently as Avatar Architects, personal shoppers, and designs for your virtual self.
02:18 — The parameters for clothes and accessories within the Metaverse are much larger and could be very different from what’s in the real world. So, within fashion houses themselves, there could be Digital Fashion Designers who work solely on developing digital fashion items.
