In this Acceleration Economy Growth Swarm, John Siefert, Bob Evans, Tony Uphoff, and Scott Vaughan have a conversation about the economy, the cloud, and customers.
Highlights
58 — The Cloud Wars Expo in-person event will be held from June 28th to 30th at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California. Register now!
54 — There have been major financial results coming out from the major cloud providers. However, there has been inflation that could be leading us toward a recession. So, the market is overreacting and is now oversold. The performance of many companies doesn’t seem to match up with the marketplace.
30 — The technology coming from these companies is enabling customer expectations to not only be met, but also exceeded. For instance, Bob recently covered the co-creation of Microsoft and American Airlines. Thanks to all of their co-creation and innovation, cloud providers are having incredible growth figures. Even so, it’s the customers who are really driving this growth, as they are wanting to be part of the magic to compete in the acceleration economy.
34 — American Airlines and Microsoft co-created to develop a mobile app, which enabled the airline company to move data where the work was being done. Imagine that every company in every industry wanted to be equipped to help people succeed and do things in a way that’s smarter, better, and faster.
32 — Not all companies have the culture and the change-in-transformation capabilities. It takes a while to see the benefits from the customers, just as it takes time for it to get through the supply chain and other systems. What we’re seeing now are partner ecosystems and co-creation with customers that promote innovation.
15 — With all of these digital transformations happening, one thing has not changed: the expectations of a customer. Customers now have expectations on the pace of innovation, regardless of the market.
07 — Venkat Ramaswamy from the University of Michigan will be speaking at Cloud Wars Expo. He has written books about co-creation and how technology has evolved — all around the notion of digital connections that customers expect.
20 — Businesses will take more responsibility for becoming digital experts in concert with their major cloud providers to put together solutions and innovate to dazzle customers. Businesses will have to become cloud experts.
42 — Data is a key element that enables businesses to compete, leverage cloud environments, and dazzle customers. Are you actually harnessing the power of data? How are you utilizing it? Sometimes businesses use data to justify things. Nowadays, companies need to shift to determine how to apply data better and capitalize on it.
24 — What has been going on from a macro perspective? How does it equate to the micro perspective? Every generation of business executive is ultimately defined by how well they understand how to use the tools available to them.
14 — Scott and Tony collaborated on an article about how to get your board on-board to accelerate digital transformation. It has developed into a connected ecosystem.
05 — Now is not the time to solely listen to the big companies out there; it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get to work. How does your organization innovate? How do you co-create? How do you focus on what matters most: customers?
