In Cybersecurity Minute Episode 27, Chris Hughes reacts to major allegations against the security policies of Twitter.

Highlights

00:08 — A former Twitter executive has leveled accusations at Twitter for its “lax data protections and poor cybersecurity practices.”

00:37 — The claims about security included alleged outdated systems software, lack of awareness around how much access users and employees have to sensitive data, and even that Twitter employees may be working for foreign government intelligence organizations.

01:13 — Twitter is a foundational communication platform across the globe. Unfettered access to user data and communications represents massive vulnerability for the social platform.

01:48 — Subsequent back-and-forth between the former executive and current Twitter CEO has attempted to shift the blame for these findings in the days since the story initially broke.
